Hello
So we have 4 idlers. What do you think folks, if we break the rules, and replace them with other players (if any) tomorrow or tomorrow after tomorrow, without waiting for 10 turns of idling?
I think that after 10 turns new player will have no chance with 4 settlers but without land to put them :), because of citymindist.
I would make poll for it, but short one, 1day (which would be another rules breaking).
What do you think about it?
I agree with the first
I agree with the first breach of the rules, but not with the second one :P A one day voting really doesn't work, it's too short. But yea if we replace the idlers now, new players would still make a chance.
Maybe we could formulate a new rule: if a player never connects (never played a turn) he can be replaced after 5 turns; if a player does connect at least once he can be replaced after 10 turns.
but if we won't break
but if we won't break second rule, there is no point to break first :), because when voting will be finished , idlers will have 10 turns from few days :).
The totally different thing that we could put such point into http://www.longturn.org/rules
I agree, since i am still
I agree, since i am still waiting to play my first longturn game. so i am one of those new players you mentioned. how do i connect to that particular LT7 game? just by typing longtrun.org and port 5555 in the freeciv network game dialog? i if i do so, i get connected to some game and there are also some other players, but how do i know which game it is since there are IMHO still LT6 and LT5 running?
LT6: port 5555 LT7: port
LT6: port 5555
LT7: port 5556

ok thank you and there is one more question: I recently managed to get an account to jabber. Im using Kopete as IM-client and when i choose to participate in a group chat, it wants to know the 'room' and the 'server'. So folks, where do you meat for jabbering?
We don't meet for jabbering,
We don't meet for jabbering, but I think it would be nice to do it.
Yes you will be the first to
Yes you will be the first to get one of those accounts, once we've decided to declare those players idle and gone.
You'll need the log in data of the account you'll be taking over, and maybe the admin can also change the player name and such.
We'll make a list of players to take over idle accounts.

I created a 'story' on the website (article) with a subscription list for idle take-over. I can't see it yet, so it probably has to be confirmed first.

I fixed categories and published it. Thx.
Let someone help them. Well
Let someone help them.
Well not exactly, but perhaps it would be a good idea to have someone to help idlers? So they can get things done even though they are idle, e.g. help with building cities and using workers.
So I'm proposing to have someone that can be a kind neutral guy, jumping in and do stuff when you can't.
Hard to get right later in the game, but in the beginning there should be no problems.
This is to give late
