The delegation system works quite well, but it still lacks any clear limitations. Players can still be managed by others throughout a whole game, which is not what the system was intended for.
A possible solution:
In the player lists you can already see if somebody's account has been delegated to someone else or not. It seems easy to use this information to create a 'delegation clock': every day account X is delegated to anyone else, the clock starts counting (e.g. "at 23:59 o' clock", is account X delegated to anyone yes or no?"). We could let the clock start at 20 days and count down the days the account is delegated. When the clock reaches 0, it is turned off and an 'idle clock' starts counting days until we turn it off. When the idle clock reaches 10, the account is up for grabs for an idle takeover player or can be deleted.
The numbers of days and the rules can be debated, but would this basic idea work? Also, is this technically easy to carry out or is it harder than it seems? Anyone interested in giving it a try?

but, as Marduk said, the rule allows delegating until the end of game. do you prefer to keep it that way?
Marduk, it doesn't need to be automatic. all we need is to vote for the maximum length of delegation. When someone delegates, everyone gets an email, so we know when the delegation started. So we can check it ourselves. Sure, it'd be better if it was automatic.

I think it's nice feature, however not neccesary I think :).
We have rules about delegation. If someone breaks the rules, then someone else will claim about it, and then that the sinner can be eg. banned.
