Lost turn in LT10

Hello,

There seems to be no LT10 specific forum so I decided to use this one. I guess most of us waking to -08 are now beginning to realize having lost control of one extra turn at the turn of the new year.

I suggest we restore the game to the beginning of last turn which lasted, according to my understanding, less than 10 hours.

In other words, due to the

In other words, due to the very short Turn46, we (Europeans) did nothing in Turn46. The game should be returned to T46.

Does someone understand how

Does someone understand how this happened? I agree that the game should be returned to the lost turn.

Very, very interesting.

Very, very interesting.

Turn changed at 02:40 1 Jan, and next at 08:04.

I see no explanation why it happend.

If you really need it, I can restart server and revert it to -1700 year, but is it really needed? Maybe we could play it as is?

I was one of the lucky ones to get a move in. But I only built roads in that turn.

Replaying a couple turns

Replaying a couple turns already played might be equally weird, since people have seen new territory and won or lost battles.

Well my vote would be in

Well my vote would be in favor of having a chance to move that turn.

According to the rules we

According to the rules we should have at least 23 hours for turn. I ONLY DEMAND LET WE PLAY ACCORDING TO THE RULES.

Nobody is able to create voting pool here. It's similar like create voting pool "vote for removing durandal".

Now, the peoples who moved will vote yes and the others will vote according to their ally???

It's not only about movement. In this turn I have researched something what already had my ally. I've lost much more then only one turn. I'm frustrated.

You should at least STOP this game until we will find the solution.

I agree that we should

I agree that we should return the game to the lost turn, clearly some people have been disadvantaged by losing the turn.
Raven is correct, returning the server to an earlier turn creates problems as well (people see territory, etc). But I think we have to apply the normal rule here, people expect a ~24 hours turn and shouldn't be disadvantaged by a very short turn.

relax man, you don't need to

relax man, you don't need to shout.

I only asked to know if somebody is against, because I think we could just go on.

But if you're against, I will revert it.

Would it be possible to give

Would it be possible to give everyone who missed that turn an extra turn, without backtracking?

obviously not

obviously not

best proposition is to stop

best proposition is to stop time and do a poll (24hr) "do you want to reverse T48, T47 and back to T46?"

Marduk's picture

Well, as Janq pointed out

Well, as Janq pointed out this isn't really an issue that should be decided on by voting. The turnlength is an essential feature of the game. Even if only one player suffered from the issue it's enough reason to put the server back to the lost turn, in my opinion.

this problem should have been fixed 3 days ago.. is it worth it to revert, when it seems like only bluemoth was able to move?

Please look at the time when reksa&me reported this problem here. It was about 2 hours after the error.

it was 30 Dec 3 days ago. It's very hard to fix problem 2 days before it appeared :).

I disagree. I think that it could be decided on by voting. But it won't be voted by administrator's decision :). I'll just revert it. I thought that everyone will say "nah, let's just continue game". But seems that someone will loose his perfectly good empire by missing one turn :)

Otherwise, maybe we should also give 72 hours for new arguments, or do a poll about doing a poll?
Game should have been reverted already, yesterday imho. It is obvious that everybody should have a possibility of doing a move if no change in turn length was announced ( I know you can't announce an upcoming error, but since one expects to make one's moves at given time and time is set by and according to the rules, every change should be announced ). I state I did the moves, because I was online when turn changed, but I vote loud and clearly in favour of the reversion.

Sounds like most people are

Sounds like most people are in agreement that we should revert the game (can somebody make a poll immediately, or Maho just revert to previous turn).

Also, while we are at it, can we please sort out Wolf who has now idled 18 turns. Lets replace with waitlist player or delete him totally.

Hehee... well, looks like it

Hehee... well, looks like it already got set back.

I was going to point out that my comments should be ignored anyway, because I got confused and was thinking this was for LTeX. :-P
