I like the idea behind longturn, and would like to give it a go. Is there a game I can join (lt13 perhaps?), or such a page which gives me updates on open spots?

Actually, you are in full right to sign up on substitute list for LT13. But I can't find one. I guess, if Maho confirms it, you just have been granted number one on that list:)
By all of my experience, this practically guarantees place in basic 30.
