Notice I said "don't usually have experience" not "don't have experience", clearly, you're an exception to this statement.
If you have experience and believe in your vote, by all means, do make your vote. I don't think you should be excluded.
When I signed up for my first game, I was encouraged to vote, although I had no clue what the vote was for and had no experience of a longturn game. I believe my votes would've skewed those polls as random noise.
I don't think I'll play "LT3 classic", but I'll look out for you in LT10 :)
Thanks for defining me random noise.. I hope to find you in game :D I admit I don't have your experience, but otoh I have experience in other games that makes me warn you: if you ignore what the fresh meat wants, you end up without a game because of missing replacements for the leaving old guys.
So... Where do I sign up for this "LT3 classic"!? ;)
That is a good proposition - and to some extent we are doing it already.
The problem is, people seem to be unwilling to propose any ruleset/server settings modifications as long as there is no new LT game scheduled to start...
mrsynical and I were talking about the problem of idlers. It seems everyone signs up for the next longturn game and then we go through a process of polls, discussions, etc... About 1-2 months later we start the game, some of those who signed up 1-2 months ago, usually the new people, have lost interest and or have had their situation change.
What about having discussions and polls first and then open the game for sign-ups. Most players who will play the next game are already playing another LT game and have valuable input into discussions and pols. The new player don't usually have experience of LT and skew the polls with random noise.
Before any new game can start, we have to finish ongoing polls (and current poll is of critical importance).

That is strictly untrue. As
That is strictly untrue. As of today, settings for LT9 are exactly the same as for LT8.
The poll is wheter we should keep the current settings, or reset to default ones (those that come with unmodified freeciv 2.0.9.
