I have written it many times, especially on the forum, but it's worth of remind you (especially just added players) that LTeX is different than LT game.
It has following features:
- automatic respawning - when you die, you can just connect to game again and you will have brand new set of units. But sometimes with some delay
- You can't disband units in LTeX,
- important: You will be automatically removed from game, if you're idle for more than 5 turns,
- important: If you won't press endturn, you be taken into account when calculating if everyone pressed endturn,
- IMPORTANT!: It's not enough to connect to not be idle. You must press turn done button. Otherwise you will be removed after 5 turns.
- Techs are lost when someone steals it from you.

When new player is created
When new player is created he is stealing techs from all players so he got random techs. And you loose random techs.
So if many players would be created you may loose all techs :)
Same type of problem
I have too. Sometime in the morning, this day, like every day I can, I connect and briefly inspect my empire status and troops :). All looks fine, except things like 'war affair', this is normaly. But 4-5 ours later, I connect again and I observe something strange: 3 tech gone! How? I can see all my terrain (island, where I'm alone now for many turns) and no sign of any kind of troops, any kind of ships in the vecinity (I have some ships for wondering around). Techs can be stolen directly from ships with diplomats within? Someone was respawn in my teritory with diplomats? Maybe some other troops who rapidly run away to a transport at shore? I need an explanation how is posible; and more one question please. How can I defend against diplomats, especialy not let to steal techs? Thanks.

I red the differences above many times...because my game (LteX) had suffer from many "problems" on its road - and no reasonable explications founded...

I wrote this because many times I lost techs in "imposible" conditions for my understanding - is the practice above stipulated somewhere and the difference mentioned in this topic obsolete?
If yes, I want to know if I can be "cut" and "respawn" 7-8 times in 24h just to change the relative balance already established (because I have a friend in some other city who likes this type of actions and he will like to join to this comunity for the goodness of all of us)

I don't know about such "feature". If it's true, then it's a bug (have you reported it to mantis?)
It's only side-effect of current situation on the map. I mean root of this problem is overpowerfull Durandal in the past.
